Owners Larry & Mary Richling purchased what was formerly the Belle of Brownville and renamed it the original River City Star and moved it from Bellevue to Omaha. The 4-Deck Excursion Vessel previously cruised the Missouri River until 2009 when the Richlings retired her. It was renovated and renamed it the Kon-Tiki-O which was permanently anchored as a floating party boat.
The Richlings then purchased a newer, smaller 2-Deck Riverboat which is the current River City Star. The Richlings had the boat brought from Lake Mead, Nevada to Omaha via two semi trucks, each one carrying a deck. The riverboat has been docked on Omaha’s Riverfront since the spring of 2009.
Mr. & Mrs. Richling have river boating in their blood and are both Admirals in the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska.
